How To Start and Keep Important Conversations Going in Your School, Church, or Campus

Students and young adults in our classrooms, youth groups, college campuses, and communities are struggling to find their way to the core fundamentals of building healthy relationships with themselves and others. Identity, sexuality, pornography, cyberbullying, and the pressure to perform/be accepted, and how to approach disagreements with empathy rather than anger or silence social-emotionally. The world has forgotten WHY lives matter.

Here’s what you can do to infuse your student body with the core fundamentals of human dignity and transform the culture of your campus and community into one that not only lives it but leads by example.

Step 1: Go through the Sexuality Mentality Study as Staff

  • Gather your team! Rally the teachers & staff, leaders, parents, or group members from your university, school, or church and let them know you’d like to organize a You Matter Tour™ event.

  • Schedule a Discovery Call to discuss key details of what your uniquely tailored YMT assembly or retreat would look like. We tailor our events to your group's current environment. This is an opportunity to share insights and help us understand any unique issues facing your teenagers.

We suggest reaching out and partnering with local organizations (Pregnancy Resource Centers, Lutherans For Life chapters, local churches, and Auxiliary Organizations such as the Knights of Columbus) to help offset book and YMT™ expenses. *Discounted rates available for schools.

Step 2: Host Your Event

  • Together, we'll find a date and format that works and fits into the flow of your annual schedule.

  • At your YMT™ student or community assembly, retreat, or 1-on-1, we'll dive into complex topics and share the life-changing message of value. Together, we can start the conversations every group should have and begin the journey of a culture shift.

Step 3: Keep the Dialogue Going with These Resources:

  • Free Sexuality Mentality Youth Bible Study (with Leader Guide!) is available for download at youthesource.com.

    • This study, Sexuality Mentality: Creating a Culture of Biblical Integrity, prepares us for the battle of living a life of biblical sexual integrity. These five sessions will help students understand the true intentions of our real, present God as He created human life, sexuality, and marriage to benefit us in our earthly lives. Students will learn how the saving presence of our “Tangible Jesus,” for us and with us, is central to a biblical mentality about sexuality and the way we approach it as Christians living in the world today.

  • Pro-active and positive social media presence that provides support, guidance, and EQ (emotional intelligence) tools we can all apply to the real-life, daily, social issues teens face.

  • 1-on-1 virtual mentoring sessions with Heather Ruesch for staff, parents, or students needing guidance to navigate through the struggles of sexuality, teen risky behaviors, unplanned pregnancy, and identity in Christ.
